KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 15: DAP Parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang has hit out at Ketereh MP Tan Sri Annuar Musa saying that the latter should not be a “coward”.
Lim was commenting on the spat that took place in the Parliament during today’s session where Annuar Musa quoted the former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohammed in the 90’s having called Lim a ‘racist’.
“He (Annuar) should have the courage to say, but he didn’t, he quoted Mahathir, he should have the courage to come out the house and repeat it and face the legal consequences.
“He must have the courage he must not be a coward say what he wants to say, he should not go and hide behind Mahathir,” said Lim as reporters hounded him as he exited the Parliament lobby here today.
Kapar MP G Manivannan, who was among the many jeering Annuar Musa during while he was making his speech, told The Malaysian Times (TMT) that it’s clear that Annuar Musa was reflecting his comments towards Mahathir.
“You see during Tun Mahathirs era in Parliament, Ketereh(Annuar Musa) was already there, he should have asked this during his political life in Parliament.
“Since now Tun Mahathir is taking a different route that does not render YB Ketereh the platform to question now, as it obviously looks bias.
“Quoting YB Gelang Patah’s earlier who made his speech, rite before his speech, I think that it is so unfair because though there were sensitive issues raised by YB Gelang Patah but it wasn’t referring to an individual stance or attacking on a personal basis.
“It was more on Umno and the Prime Minister as there are alot of issues surrounding the PM that needs to be answered,” said the PKR lawmaker.
He said that Annuar making personal attacks against Lim did not sit well with the opposition MPs earlier.
Manivannan stated that Annuar Musa had not touched 1MDB, cost of living, GST nor his MARA suspension.
“Talking about 50 years of political life of YB Gelang Patah it is none of his business you see.
That is DAP’s agenda, let DAP decide and membership decide, who are you (to decide)?
“I’m sitting here for the first time, I may have been shouting, but I was shouting at this kind of bias and unprecedented statement, where I feel this people who have been there for quite some time but have not been using the platform to think wisely to raise issue wisely,” said Manivannan.
