AFC Cup: Darul Ta’zim hammers Global to lead Group F

KUALA LUMPUR: Former champions Darul Ta’zim recorded a routine 4-0 win over Global FC of the Philippines in an AFC Cup Group F match at Larkin Stadium in Johor Baru today.

With the win, Darul Ta’zim now lead the group with seven points, one more than second-place Global.

Right-winger Mahali Jasuli scored off a Safiq Rahim pass in the 30th minute.

Four minutes later, captain Safiq netted from the penalty spot to extend Darul Ta’zim’s lead.

Substitute Brian Ferreira made it 3-0 with a grounder three minutes from time before centre-back Marcos Antonio headed in a Gabriel Guerra free-kick for the fourth goal in stoppage time.

In another group match, Cambodia’s Boeungket Angkor edged Myanmar’s Magwe 1-0 in Phnom Penh.
