Don’t keep opposition in the dark over child crimes bill, Azalina told

KUALA LUMPUR, Mar 14: Kulai MP Teo Nie Ching has urged Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said to include and consult oppositions MPs on the Child Sexual Offences Bill 2017.

“Azalina Othman Said, who is also the Chairlady of Parliamentary Women’s Caucus, knows very well that female MPs are capable of putting aside political differences and work together for the interest of women and children.

“There is no need to keep the opposition in the dark until the day the bill is tables in the parliament.

“However sadly to say, until today we in the opposition are still clueless about the details of the bill and we have no idea if child marriage will be covered in the bill,” said Teo here today in the Parliament lobby.
