Najib Does Not Believe In Punishing Kelantan People

Datuk Seri Najib Tun razak (Bernama file pix)KUALA LUMPUR, March 12 (Bernama) – Action by a former leader who punished the Kelantan people by reducing the state’s allocation is not the way for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

In his latest entry in titled ‘Development of Kelantan,’ Najib said as a leader he must be fair to all as demanded by religion.

“A former leader punished the people of Kelantan for not supporting him by reducing the allocation. For me, the people of Kelantan need help, just like other Malaysians.

Certain parties questioned why he often visit Kelantan and give so many projects to the state. Najib just ended a two-day visit to Kelantan.

Najib opened a new hospital in Bachok costing RM140 million and announced the construction of Kuala Krai Hospital costing RM300 million.

He also announced the construction of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) from Gombak (Kuala Lumpur) to Wakaf Baru (Tumpat, Kelantan).

“When completed the ECRL, will cut travel time to only 4 hours, and will bring multiplier effects on the lives of the people, provide jobs and improve the standard of living.”

Najib also visited the homes of Mek Nab Awang,72, Rohana Che Ali,52, and Aliza – three poor families who live in dilapidated houses.

“As part of the Jom Bantu Rakyat campaign, the three women will get new houses that are more comfortable.

“As prime minister, I want to bring change to the country, and this includes the state of Kelantan,” he added.
