Outsourcing Malaysia Hopes For Government Funding For Talent Development Initiatives

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 18 (Bernama) — The government needs to consider allocating funding for talent development initiatives with local universities to further strengthen Malaysia’s Global Business Services (GBS), Outsourcing Malaysia (OM) said.

The OM, a chapter of the National ICT Association of Malaysia, said the GBS, a new driver of business and investments for Malaysia, was facing an acute talent shortage which would affect its potential to be a global player.

Quoting the 2014 Labour Force Survey report by the Department of Statistics, OM Chairman Cheah Kok Hoong said 31 per cent of unemployed workers in Malaysia had a tertiary education, translating to about 130,000 people…..
